The second semester of 2024 started with a few important acknowledgements for Gale & Cosm, in terms of sustainability and good practices, which set the right path to a business model that is aligned with the goals of “The 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development”.

Thanks to the study conducted by the Scientific Committee of ALA Srl, we got evaluated in the ESG Report (Environmental, Social and Governance Report), not only to demonstrate with transparency what our company already does for its sustainability journey, but especially to make sure we know what are the next steps further. 

Performance evaluation therefore allows the company to develop action plans that
allow improvements to be made or specific practices to be integrated with the aim of not only increasing performance, but also remaining competitive, obtaining satisfactory long-term results.

Obtaining the ESG Rating Grade A confers to Gale & Cosm a “LOW RISK level as a resilient company capable of adapting to different regulatory contexts and able to use the best ESG strategy with solid and concrete results”.

NOT ONLY SUSTAINABILITY, BUT COMPANY TRANSPARENCY
The theme of sustainability definitely plays a central role in how we should think of doing business in the future, but one thing we at Gale & Cosm do not take for granted is the concept of transparency. 
The compliance of companies with ethical and legal principles has become an extremely important element for operating in markets, therefore the evaluation of such compliance is just as important. That is why Gale & Cosm, aware of the opportunities deriving from this, has undergone a legality rating evaluation, which also contributes to determining the reputation of the company.

“To be part of the list published by the AGCM (Autorità garante della concorrenza e del mercato) can represent, for many customers and suppliers, a discriminating factor in the choice of their commercial partners, because a company that has the legality rating is recognized on the market as a healthy and virtuous entity. For this reason, the rating enables more opportunities to do business and can allow to position oneself in the “premium” part of one’s reference market”.

A CERTIFIED ITALIAN EXCELLENCE
As a result of all of our efforts to hold high the name of the Made-in-Italy all over the world, we have managed to achieve an important corporate milestone, becoming “Italian Excellence”, an award submitted to the evaluation of the Ministry of Economic Development, which rewards local companies that stand out for the quality of their products and for their “Italianity”. 
Thanks to our R&D team we are constantly studying and researching new ingredients and solutions for ever greater sustainability.
We collaborate with institutional entities and sector associations to always seek the best for our products, this has led us to have today a portfolio of raw materials with numerous quality certifications: from Vegan to Cosmos to Halal, renown all over the world.
During the past year we have researched and developed new raw materials for the cosmetic sector, which are great natural alternatives to many chemical products that we can currently find on the market. One of our latest products developed is GALESAN ECOGREEN C ® (Tetradecane, Helianthus Annuus Seed Oil, Tocopherol), our 100% plant-derived substitute to volatile silicone oils designed to confer the dry and “powdery” touch of Cyclopentasiloxane and Isohexadecane. It confers a dry silicone-like texture to the product and it is ideal to improve spreadability and reduce the overall greasiness of cosmetic formulations.

OUR PLANS FOR THE FUTURE
As the beauty industry is getting more and more towards a sustainable future, and the trend towards natural cosmetics is still under the spotlight, we plan to implement our research in that direction. That is why we recently opened a new laboratory, situated in Umbria, where we are focusing our resources on finding new green solutions for the cosmetic industry, replacing synthetic ingredients with natural alternatives. Our commitment to “Green chemistry” is an objective in line with the REACh directive of European Commission on chemical products, which has the aim of reducing damage caused by the chemicals currently in use on the market.
